Elena Serpas is originally from Cambridge, MA, and studies Ethnicity, Race, & Migration and Education Studies. A community organizer by training and a consent and communication educator, Elena loves thinking about food, anti-bias anti-racist education, and getting young children engaged with and curious about the land around them. She also enjoys being among flowers (especially ones her Dad grows on the windowsill of their condo) and monarch butterflies (especially ones in the community garden she grew up visiting with her Mom). As Seed to Salad Coordinator, Elena looks forward to working with New Haven educators and student volunteers to coordinate YSFP's beloved farm-based education program – seed dances, soil explorations, salad parties, and all!
